Technology

The technology of this world is mostly like your regular fantasy. The weapons and armor are exactly what you expect. Humans, Halflings, and Aasimar wear the classic medieval look. Elves have an eastern look, all of their technology reflects this. The Dwarves and the Gnomes have a rather steam-punk look, they also have a clockwork feel to them, considering they are the founders of such technology. In Hoyence these three styles mesh well, and the city greatly shows many aspects of all of them.

Like mentioned earlier, clockwork and steam technology are present. Clockwork is nearly perfected, while steam power is still fairly new. These technologies fuel many parts of the world, examples can be vehicles, like some horseless carriages, or the vast airships that float above the city. Other examples could be clockwork armor and weapons, most commonly used by the Dwarves and Gnomes, but are used often by the other races. One major clockwork/steam powered invention were the mechanical lifeforms, known as Warforged. They have been used for manual labor, law enforcement, and to fight minor conflicts. They have limited intelligence generally, but some have been granted it at a higher level. Each have personality, and some have even earned freedom to be their own person out in the world.
